TOURS
Tours are given
throughout the academic year. The best way
to learn about our community is to visit our
classes, meet our teachers and see our
program in action. Contact the admissions
office to schedule a visit.
ADMISSIONS EVENTS
Open House
Our open house will take
place on Sunday, October 28th from 1:00 –
3:00pm. Don’t miss this wonderful
opportunity to spend time with JCDS
students, faculty and parents. Interactive
activities are planned for children who will
be visiting as well.
Bring a friend to school Day!
On Tuesday, November 6th
JCDS families have the opportunity to invite
their friends and neighbors to join them at
school for the morning. If you would like to
participate in this fun and informative
program, we will assign you a student or
parent guide. Call Naomi in our admissions
office to reserve your spot. Spaces are
limited, sign up early!

Form and return to the Jewish Community Day
School together with your non-refundable
$50.00 application fee.
Recommendations and Transcripts
Make sure the office has
all the forms and documentation required to
complete your child’s application. These

Applicants to Pre-Kindergarten and
Kindergarten:
Group Play-dates for
applicants to pre-K and Kindergarten will be
held on:

Please plan to arrive 15
minutes before your scheduled play-date.
Applicants for first through eighth
grades:
As soon as we receive an
application form, we will invite your child
in for a classroom visit and meeting with
our Director of Student Support Services,
Betsy Singer Cable.
Applicants for second
grade through eighth grades will be given a
reading assessment and asked to submit a
writing sample.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Our application deadline
is Thursday, January 31, 2008. All completed
forms and documentation need to be received
by that date. Any applications received
after January 31st will be considered based
on available spaces.
TUITION AID
If you are applying for
tuition aid, all forms and backup
documentation need to be received by our
business office no later than February 15,
2008.
ADMISSIONS DECISIONS
Admissions decisions
will be sent out on March 10, 2008.
RESERVING A SPACE FOR YOUR CHILD
Deposits, required to
reserve a place for your child, are due back
in our office by April 10, 2008.
LATERAL ENTRIES
In order to ease the
transition to JCDS for children entering in
the second grade or above, the Admissions
Director together with the Judaic and Hebrew
Coordinators will discuss an educational
plan with the applicant’s parents to bring
the student up to grade level in Judaic
subjects. This may require additional
tutoring coordinated by the school and/or
family. |
