What is
Annual Fund?
Annual Fund is a yearly appeal for
contributions to help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual
operating expenses. The Annual Fund is an essential component of our
school’s financial base and the largest source of unrestricted dollars
that can be used to support our growing needs. At JCDSRI, tuition covers
roughly 60% of our budget. The funds raised support the general
operating budget, including financial aid, faculty salaries and
benefits, new learning equipment, professional development, classroom
maintenance and athletic equipment.

Why is
tuition not enough?
Generally speaking, all private schools
have a gap between the cost of tuition and actual budget costs. JCDSRI
is no different. Annual Fund allows us to keep the cost of tuition down
so that a Jewish education from JCDSRI is accessible to a diverse
population. Private schools rely on tuition, endowment income and
fundraising proceeds to meet their operating expenses.
Who
contributes to Annual Fund?
The JCDSRI community is diverse and we
rely on funds from many different groups, including current and past
parents, alumni and former students, current and past grandparents,
faculty, staff and friends of the greater Jewish community.
Why should I
give?
Support of the Annual Fund shows that we
support the overall mission and goals of the school. Our goal is to have
100% participation by our current families, Board members, faculty and
staff.
 How much should I give?
Gifts may range from $18 on up -- this
could mean providing school supplies to providing tuition for a child in
need of financial aid. Participation should be appropriate for each
donor’s personal circumstances. Every gift will make a difference in the
life of a JCDSRI student. Pledges should be made and paid by the end of
our fiscal year on June 30th as the money is immediately directed to the
current fiscal year. Please check if your company participates in the
