Community Programs

JCDS-RI reflects – and celebrates – the diversity and vitality of the Greater Rhode Island Jewish community. We are committed to creating an environment in which all our partners – students, teachers, staff, families, synagogues, rabbinical leadership and the Jewish community of greater Rhode Island – unite in building a vibrant Jewish future.

JCDS-RI seeks to create a caring community, to teach our students the skills necessary to thrive amidst diversity, and to model the community that our students will build as adults.

Our school creates opportunities for people to experience and understand what it means to be part of an inclusive Jewish community and to reflect our commitment to Jewish Day School education.

These events include: Opening Day and End-of-the-Year Celebrations, Zimriyah, Israel Celebration Day (Yom Ha’atzmaut), JCDS-RI Text Studies, Community Shabbaton, Parenting Workshops, Rosh Hodesh Celebrations, Service Learning Projects and JCDS Milestone Events.

Parent & Community Volunteers

Parent and Community Volunteers are a tremendous asset to our school. Parents and community members have volunteered their time and energy to the library, to tutoring, on field trips, and to speak to groups on a wide variety of issues. If you have any areas of interest or expertise and would like to volunteer your time or services, please contact Eileen Ellis at eellis@jcdsri.org.

Family Education
