Parent Teacher Conferences

Dear Parents:

We would first like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, successful, prosperous New Year!

On the JCDS School Calendar, which was mailed to our families last June, the second parent-teacher conference session was scheduled for February 5 and 6, 2007. While reflecting on the parent-teacher conferences and the full report card of the first trimester, the administration of JCDS decided to alter the assessment process in the months to come to improve in both the timing and quality of assessment. During the process, we consulted with other independent schools in the Providence area plus the input from our homeroom teachers. The result is as follows:

We are scheduling the school-wide parent teacher conferences for March 21 and 22, 2007. Once again, you will be meeting with your child’s homeroom teacher. Also at that conference, you will receive a modified assessment report of your child’s progress. This report will give you information about your child’s progress in all subject areas. You will receive another full progress report at the conclusion of the school year this June. This report will be similar to the one you recently received in December.

Your homeroom teacher will be contacting you with more details regarding the conferences. We are planning two specialized educational school days for our students on March 21 and 22. As plans are finalized, you will be apprised of the details.
