Dear Parents:
We are pleased to inform
you that the Hot Lunch Program will continue
through April 2010; we anticipate a
third sign-up for the hot lunch program
after Pesach.
Deb Blazer of Accounting
for Taste will be the chef extraordinaire.
Deb has many years experience of food
preparation and runs a very successful
Kosher Catering business in the Rhode Island
Jewish community. Recently Deb’s catering
business was voted “Best Kosher Catering
Business” by the Rhode Island Jewish Voice
and Herald, as well as the best in various
entrees and side dishes. Mazal Tov, Deb!
Also in prior years, Deb was in charge of
the JCDSRI hot lunch program which proved to
be very popular with our students and their
families. We are fortunate to have Deb with
us again this school year.
We are pleased our
students will be able to order hot lunch
EVERY FRIDAY at JCDSRI.
Fridays are special at
JCDSRI. It is all about community. In
addition to classroom celebrations of
Kabbalat Shabbat, we have an all-school
(faculty and students) community lunch and
all-school assembly at 1:45 p.m. in which
our parents and grandparents have an open
invitation to attend.
The cost of the hot
lunch program is $50. If your child is
interested in having hot lunch on Fridays
this winter, we ask that you pay in advance
the entire $50 for all 9 lunches; there will
be no option for choosing select Fridays or
refunds for missed Fridays. This is the only
way we can successfully offer this popular
program. Deb will accommodate for dietary
restrictions (i.e., celiac and lactose
intolerance) and any meat meals will have an
alternative vegetarian offering.
Attached is the menu for
April 2010. Hot lunch forms
must be sent into the school office NO LATER
THAN THIS MONDAY, JANUARY 11TH, so that
proper planning and shopping can be
completed. Checks should be made payable to JCDSRI.
We look forward to
continuing our community-centered Fridays
and the hot lunch program which enhances the
goal of kehila.
