Bienvenida! What would your life be like if you lived in the New
Mexico territory in the early 1820s? We will learn about this exciting
time by exploring the life of Josefina Montoya, a Hispanic muchacha, who
lives on her family’s rancho. Together we will read Meet Josefina and
Happy Birthday Josephina by Valerie Tripp, select Spanish names, do
fancy lettering with quill pens and enjoy salsa with nachos! Bien!
Our major focus will be the delightful play, Josefina’s Gift.
Josefina learns the helpful uses of herbs as she learns to be a
“healer.” Along with our acting cast, we will need a narrator and stage
hands. Members will present the play at our final session. So “Lights,
Cameras, Action!” join our exciting acting adventure.
The fee for the 10-week course is $100.00, the material fee is $10.00
and the snack fee is $3.00. The total fee is $113.00. The first 10
students who enroll with the required fee and registration form will be
accepted. Scholarships are available. Don’t miss the fun and Mexican
food! ADIOS!
Note: Students will be dismissed from the school entrance at 4:30 p.m.
