Resources
Our library is automated by Follett/Sagebrush Software
and contains approximately 5,000 volumes for Grades PreK-8. For example,
there are some 400 items in the Reference Collection and over 2,000
items in the Fiction Collection. Collections include Primary,
Intermediate, and MS Judaica, Autographed, Periodical, Audiocassette,
Videocassette, DVD, and CD-ROM. There are four computers for student use
as well as a TV, and VCR, DVD and CD players. Students may borrow books
from Temple Emanu-El’s library, which is adjacent to our library.
Classes
Grades PreK-5 have a weekly, 45-minute class. Class
activities may include stories, poetry, book reviews, artwork, puppetry,
dramatizations, research problems and games, and researching.

website in the Newsletter section.
After School Club
For eight years the library has offered after school
clubs. Our current clubs are Book Buddies, which involves books and
activities based on a theme, and Knitty Gritty, which teaches knitting.
READING INCENTIVE PROGRAMS
Rhode Island Children’s Book Award Program, Children’s Book Week,
Reading Week, Jewish Book Month, Read Across America, Summer Reading
Lists, the Library Summer Reading Program, and others.
SPECIAL ANNUAL EVENTS
Bookworm Library Program, Scholastic Book Fair, Reading Week with a
Visiting Author, Book Awards Celebration, Black History Month, Women’s
History Month, Poetry Month, National Library Week, Teddy Bear
Celebration and others.
VOLUNTEERS are
needed to help with library tasks such as cataloging books on Mondays
and Fridays. Other times may be arranged. Please feel free to drop by
and help.
