Site Recommendation to the JCDSRI Board

Charter

Present to the JCDS Board of Directors an objective evaluation and recommendation of the sites proffered for the new JCDS location.

Objective

Identify, evaluate and assess critical elements that will achieve the greatest overall community benefit in the selection of a site for the JCDS school.

Critical elements include (but not limited to):

• JCC Site vs. Tamarisk – site vs. site comparison.

• Student demographics – current base, potential base.

• Where is the growth? Impact on current student population.

• Physical structure configurations, limitations and options for growth.

• Construction costs and timing;

• JCDS operational costs;

• Forecast of student population (Business Plan);

• Single facility structure vs. Jewish community campus concept (JFRI).

Tasks

• Assess the pros and cons of JCC site vs. Tamarisk as presented by the architectural studies;

• Identify and assess optional combination alternatives i.e. bussing, split sites;

• Identify / quantify potential new students by location;

• Assess impact of a community school in Warwick vs. Providence (JFRI).
