Congratulations on your child's
promotion to 1st Grade! We ask that three books be read over the
summer. Hopefully you will read many more. Reading may be done by
the child and/or by having the child listen to the story read aloud.
You may want to help your child understand the vocabulary, sequence
and story. One book has been selected. The other two books are to be
selected from the following Booklist. The list has books at varied
levels. Most of the listed books are available in public libraries.
Books with a * are available on audiocassette or CD. The Book
Assignment is due the first week of school.
