Welcome!
The staff and I welcome you to the Jewish Community Day School of Rhode
Island. We appreciate the opportunity to explore with you the option of
enrolling your child(ren) in a Jewish day school.
We provide a Jewish day school
education from pre-school through eighth grade. As a day school, JCDSRI
provides children with Jewish and general education in a nurturing
environment that provides a strong sense of community and Jewish
identity. The development of a moral individual is of upmost importance
to us.
We offer what is known as a “dual
curriculum,” offering general school subjects like math, English, and
social studies as well as Judaic subjects, like Bible, Jewish history,
and Hebrew. Some of our lessons are “integrated,” in which students
cover both general and Jewish studies in the same classroom setting. We
offer close personal attention, encourage critical thinking, and create
“habits of mind” that prepare students well for future studies. Our day
school education enables children to make full use of their time, all
the while experiencing the “best of both worlds.”
A Cultural Enrichment Program,
sponsored by the Parents Association, brings visiting artists and
performers to the school each year. In addition, there is a full
schedule of special events that students look forward to: Zimriyah
Songfest, Arts Week, Hebrew Musical, Science Exhibitions, Art Show and a
variety of family programs.
JCDSRI is accredited by the State of
Rhode Island, the Association of Independent Schools of New England, and
the Bureau of Jewish Education of Rhode Island. We are affiliated with
RAVSAK: The Jewish Community Day School Network and the Independent
School Association of Rhode Island.
Please call the school if you would
like to schedule a visit or if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Dani Steiner,
Head of School
